I need to edit my original review and rating now that the project is complete. I was given a financial incentive for providing a 5* google review on the night of the technical walkthrough. This is a questionable practice, but what makes it worse is that the "financial incentive" was part of the contract for displaying the AGM sign outside our house for the duration of the reno. My rating would be 7/10 but since this is out of 5 stars I am rounding down. The work was completed according to contract and on time, but based on reputation, the "Mike Holmes seal off approval" and positive feedback from acquantances, we expected a much better experience in terms of value, communication, and overall project management. Pros: Work was completed on time, quality of major work (framing, plumbing, electrical) was done competently. Large mutlidisciplinary team with multiple deparments/trades instead of crew of generalists. AGM was open to our feedback and usually fixed issues we pointed out with little pushback 5 year warranty on work done, which seems like much more than an individual contractor would provide Cons: Communication was lacking between us, the trades and the project manager. Project manager was only here a handful of times during a 2 month project, and went on vaction for 2 weeks and only gave us 2 hours notice. Project manager only replied to about 50% of the texts that we sent him (his recommended method of communication) Scheduling was mind-boggling and certain tasks were not done in order - Tiler showed up before drywall was up, plumber came to install a sink that had not arrived, Flooring crew could not finish stairs because custom nosing had not arrived. Cleaners came before project was completed and needed to come back again. Plumber installed bathroom vanity and mirror before walls were painted, so paint job was not as good as it could have been. Baseboards and floor transitions installed before doors, so they had to be ripped off and reinstalled, with some damage. One saturday evening, a materials delivery from a big box store showed up at our door without any notice, and a large quantity of materials were offloaded to our garage. A lot of the material was not for our project and needed to be picked up. Trades were not always respectful/aware of our new things - used our new bathroom before it had been painted and caulked, used our new media wall to rest their tools/screws on while working on other areas of the basement. None of these things meant the project was not done according to contract, but I certainly did not expect to have to be as involved as I was in this renovation in order to get it done right. The biggest sore point is the "custom media wall" that we commissioned at a significant incremental price tag. The finished product does not live up to expectations and quite honestly I feel that pre-fabricated shelving (i.e. Ikea) would probably look better at a fraction of the cost. Ultimately if you asked me if I was happy with the work done, I would say "yes" If you asked me if I was happy with the contractor(s), I would probably say "no" If you asked me if I would go with AGM again, I would say "not at that price". ==================== Great service based on pre sales consulting and technical walkthrough. Friendly and knowledgeable, very up front with costs and extras, also provided many recommendations to help us save on the project. Had several meetings before signing and no pressure to commit. Like the on time guarantee and 5 yr warranty offered. Would recommend!

This is our second basement project with AGM as we moved into another home. When it came to renovating our current basement, we were looking to partner with a company who would understand our needs, be open to feedback and communicate well. It was all about the relationship and AGM delivered. From our first phone call to the consultation with our project manager Karim, we were reassured we made the right choice. From the outset, Karim's choice of collaborators through AGM was nothing short of exceptional. From the framing team, painters, flooring, and beyond - each member showcased skill and dedication. Their collective effort transformed our vision into a reality that surpassed our expectations. For anyone seeking a team of competent and qualified professionals, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to AGM. We will definitely use them for future projects!

We first heard of AGM Renovations approximately 5 years ago. The radio ads hooked us and then we began to research the company. The biggest selling point was that they have such a detailed process from beginning to end,. We had an unfinished basement and wanted a TV theatre space, a gym, a finished laundry room, a new bathroom and shower, and some nice storage areas. We asked the project to be started on October 2nd and they said they could do that and that the entire project would be finished by November 30th. Well, it’s November 20th and they’re done! Their project manager Adam managed all the logistics like a symphony orchestra maestro. Materials were delivered at different stages of the project, while different crews came in to do their work. These guys worked like machines - each person being pleasantly kind and respectful to us and our home. Their work ethic and expertise were second to none. They even collected the garbage on a regular basis to enable space for more materials. We would highly recommend AGM Renovations to anyone doing a home reno project. They care and want to make sure that you are satisfied with their work. We are so excited to now begin enjoying our new finished basement. Thanks for everything AGM!

Our experience with the project with AGM was great and seamless from sales to final completion. Warren, the sales rep was very helpful to us understanding the price, process and timelines. Daisy was very helpful in the design stage making many useful suggestions. Saba managed the project very effectively, keeping ongoing communications throughout the project so we were updated on a timely basis. The process of communicating days and timelines was well coordinated among Saba and the trade workers. The demo/tiling/electrical and plumbing by Aziz's team was top notch and professional. Harmon did a fine job installing all of the cabinets. The project was finished well within the timeline expected. Overall, this project really transformed our kitchen into a more functional kitchen with more cabinet space and a large island.

The 5 star rating is for the following. Recently we’ve had our kitchen completely renovated and we’re over the moon about it!!! We love our kitchen!!! It was quite a journey to get there. The ups and downs of renovations is what to expect. If it weren’t for the trades, we wouldn’t know how to do this on our own! Both Mark and Leonor would love to thank all those who went above and beyond to see our project come to its conclusion. Daisy Gono, project manager and designer. She was very helpful, professional, very friendly, communicative and empathetic when things got complicated. She help put on paper the design that I, Leonor, came up with. She was very supportive and enthusiastic about the design. From the beginning I knew that I was in good hands. Thank you, Daisy. Lance, cabinet extraordinaire and his staff. Through his knowledge and measuring skills, we had strong custom beautiful cabinets, that will last a lifetime of handlings, and everyday stresses. Thank you, Lance. Sinmoy, general contractor and all the sub contractors. Very friendly, hard working professionals. Always tried to ease our minds when things got a little complicated and answered all our questions and concerns. It was a wonderful experience to have witnessed all the hard work, the coordination, the scheduling and the collaboration of the sub trades. Thank you Sinmoy. Greg, master electrician. Greg’s job was not an easy one. Being a condo, he had to add electrical outlets and switches, where none existed and dealing with 2 solid concrete walls!!!! What a pain it was!!! But he was so professional, very friendly, funny and answered all questions, addressed concerns. Greg made sure that everything was done safely and aesthetically. Thank you, Greg. In general, we are very happy with our kitchen and appreciate all the hard work that went into making our dreams come true. Thank you all, again, for everything. One other person I almost forgot is Randy, counters. We love our beautiful counters. The installers did a wonderful job. Thank you, Randy.

We had our kitchen renovated this past spring by AGM. There were a few hiccups at first but we ended up with a good team. Matthew, our project manager was wonderful, very caring and responded very quickly to all our questions, concerns and communications. Kelly, the designer, assisted in making our new kitchen as functional as possible. Junior, our construction manager and his crew were great. No question was too silly, always explained what was doing on and how it would be done. He always got back to us with any concerns that we may have had. Majestic Kitchens did a good job with our cabinets, again a team that answered all of our questions and was very customer orientated. The only concern we had with our renovations was the person who was installing our counter tops. He was not very friendly or client concerned. Very abrasive with my wife when she had a concern and after very loudly explaining what he was going to do, finally realized my wife was correct and adjusted the counter so that the stove would fit properly. Overall a good experience, very happy with end result but was a bit on the higher end in costs.

AGM Renovations transformed our basement into a beautiful living space, with its own bathroom, complete with a walk-in shower, where there was no bathroom before. All of the trades who worked on our project, without exception, we’re top notch in their field. They were EXCEPTIONAL! Vic, your plumbing expertise and great attitude blew others - we’d met in the past - out of the water. Paul your knowledgeable approach together with your expertise told me, we’re in good hands. - Great job gentleman! - Karim, our project manager, was captain of the ship, so to speak. - Thanks Karim, for guiding our project from start to finish, and explaining the whys and wherefores, when I was questioning and in doubt. And a special thanks to Eugene, whose invaluable, superb craftsmanship and unflappable demeanour was a joy to work with. AGM Renovations, THANKS for a beautiful job, well done 👍

NEW UPDATE: AGM has now finished our Kitchen today, again ahead of schedule and it looks amazing. The design and workmanship is top notch. Saba was the proje t manager and such a pleasure to deal with and on top of the project from day 1. Matthew spent an entire day designing it with us and it has turned out even better than expected. Saba is also overseeing the flooring and paiting of the entire home and the floors were completed as well and look fantastic. The paiters are working right now and doing a great job...very meticulous and taking extra time to properly remove outlet covers and patching holes in the walls. They are very neat and clean and cover everything tonprotect them. Once again excellent all around. Aug 31, 2023. AGM just finished the basement under the project management of Ayad Thabit. Again, nothing but great things to say. The project is ahead of time by 2 weeks and looks fantastic. I have been inspecting throughout the project and have to say that these guys are truly professional in everything they do, the level of care and concern have gone above and beyond. Ayad has offered to assist with other items that aren't even part of the project just to make it easier for my folks and us, can't ask for more- Aug 09-23. The Ensuite bath in the main bedroom has been completed as well and it's amazing, huge bath with a bench and integrated plumbing right next to it will be so much easier for my elderly parents -Aug 6-23. AGM just finished my main bath and WOW! Awesome company with very polite and hard working trades persons and managers. Bill, our Bathroom renovator is amazing and Ilya and Gloria manage and design the project exactly the way we wanted. It was done ahead of time and perfectly July 20-23. Can't wait for the rest of the renos to be completed!

Saba was supportive and polite. The same adage applies, you can only do what you can with the tools you are given. Saba did her best given the tools in the toolbox she was handed. She listened patiently to our concerns. Ahmed and his team were professional and accountable. Ahmed really made the effort to check on us and see how the progress was going on this project. Overall Ahmed's team were engaged in the process and I really appreciated Ahmed's team's professional approach and effort to maintain a consistent set standard in installation. Rex's team re-did 3/4 of the kitchen at our request. We appreciated that. As people, Rex's team were nice, although at times frustrated with requests to align things what were misaligned. The work at our place was just ok. It took me awhile to figure out the process. Eventually I began to understand it and for each change or addition I wanted, I needed to purchase a package and I may or may not have needed all the items in the package. I came in with very high expectations and the first kitchen boxes came in damaged and scratched. After consultation, we were offered a re-do on some of the cabinet boxes. The second time around was ok. One of the major cabinets was re-created and well -made but was completely the wrong size. It had to be removed and we had to wait for a third one to be made and then installed. I think it was just post-covid time and so things were created in a rushed manner. We had some workers who came in and were very recently trained and installed and handled materials as only those who are rushed or inexperienced can. They did not consistently level or measure with care. Repairs and updates were often made just on the spot, not preplanned. Apparently our floor was not even and that caused some challenges to the workers. Kumar worked consistently on the cabinets. All workers were generally polite. Each team seems to work very independently of one another. It's just the overall level of training and degree of workmanship were not what we anticipated. We were shocked after reading the reviews to see our anticipated level of workmanship did not match the advertising or reviews that we had read. Really, Saba and Ahmed were who got us through the process!

I'm sure some people have had a tremendous experience with this company, but I am not one of those people. I was looking forward to doing a kitchen reno I have been putting off for half a decade. I had a great initial meeting with Jerica and explained I had a limited budget of $80K to transform an alley kitchen into an open concept with a post and an island in the center. A $2500 deposit was done the same day to reap the discounts. Then came the second meeting, with Daisy. That promise of not increasing the initial quoted price, that's a lie. With no remorse from this company, the price of my initial quote kept increasing, and thus I stopped the meeting. I have yet to find a renovation company that I can trust. I DO NOT recommend this company to single females who want to increase the value of their homes with a budget of less than $100K. I have initial doubts when I saw this company at the REMAX Home & Garden Show. I should have trusted my gut. Never again.
