Shavon was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I now realize why it is that they worked well together. My friend is that person who takes months, if not years, to commit to a particular renovation, which I suppose is why she worked well with him; Shavan, I now realize, is that contractor who takes just as long (if at all) to respond to any communication with a current or potential client. Now, if you are dealing with any specific timeline or renovation deadline, save your time, your breath and your frustration. Either this guy, this company, is so incompetent that they can’t schedule their time appropriately for clients, OR he is just that basic narcissist shop-owner who believes he’s doing YOU the favour of taking on your job. In this case, I am leaning toward the latter, since I was “lucky enough” to meet with him face to face on a couple occasions where he “assured” me that my job was “easy for him”. I stressed that I need this work done by end of January; again, he assured me this was no problem, “it’s an easy job for me” he emphasized. I even offered to give him a deposit, which he said was not necessary. So, since beginning of November, I have been waiting for drawings for my “easy” job. Since the end of November, I have attempted to contact Shavan no less than a couple dozen times, through email, text, phone call.... We are now in the 3rd week of January; so, I will assume that if I can’t even get this “business owner” to call me back, I guess my “easy” job will NOT be completed as was agreed upon. This is so unfortunate given the fact that I specifically did NOT want to deal with a large corporation (ie. Home Depot, IKEA) during these difficult economic times but, instead, wanted to support privately owed and small businesses. So, now, I am stuck, scrambling to source another company that will get my job done, during a lockdown where it is virtually impossible to see any products in person, that is supposed to be installed by next week. So, thank you Shavan for wasting 3 months of MY valuable time, all the while not giving the least bit of thought that all you had to do at the onset was tell me that you are incapable of following through on your promises. Shame on you. Lesson learned for me. I feel badly for my friend because she feels responsible for recommending Shavan to me although I don’t blame her at all; the blame for incompetence here is solely on Shavan’s shoulders. Trust me, people, don’t waste your valuable time and energy with this company 🤬
